CREATIVE

direction

This feature-length documentary follows the life and legacy of Romero Britto, often described as a modern-day Picasso. One of the most commercially successful pop artists alive, Britto built an empire through bold color, optimism, and relentless drive. From the beginning, the goal was to create something emotionally honest and visually striking. We avoided the tropes of standard art documentaries. I worked alongside director Patrick Moreau of Muse Storytelling to bring his vision to life. Together, we shaped the narrative structure, visual language, and emotional pacing. Every decision was made to honor Britto’s complexity while keeping the story accessible to both fans and first-time viewers.

VISUAL

direction

Shot across multiple countries, the documentary blends vérité-style footage, cinematic interviews, and archival material. Framing and camera movement remained intentional, designed to reflect the scale and optimism of Britto’s work. Stylized transitions and color palettes mirrored the artist’s visual language without overstepping it. We filmed key interviews with direct-to-lens eye contact to invite viewers into more personal and vulnerable moments. The visual tone evolves across the timeline of Britto’s life, growing in saturation and speed to reflect his rise and the expanding complexity of his career.

IMPACT

The Britto Doc premiered to a sold-out audience during Art Basel in Miami, becoming one of the most talked-about events of the week. Featuring appearances by Arnold Schwarzenegger, Martha Stewart, DJ Khaled, Gloria Estefan, Emilio Estefan, and many more, the film drew global attention and reinforced Britto’s cultural influence. This under-dog documentary explores the ups and downs of Romero Britto’s past and becoming a modern-day Picasso, giving audiences a deeper understanding of his impact on contemporary art. It solidifies his legacy as one of the most recognized and commercially successful artists in the world, capturing the heart behind the brand and the global movement he created.
